ADMET is pleased to announce the release of our new BioTense Perfusion Bioreactor Testing System. BioTense is a next generation instrument to help tissue engineers and cell biologists perform high resolution mechanobiology investigations. Unique to the BioTense is its ability to apply uniaxial mechanical stimulation and directly observe cell/matrix interaction at high magnification over long periods of time. The Bioreactor sits atop the XYZ stage of an inverted microscope and allows for control of reactor temperature and nutrient concentration.

Time elapsed video (30th to 168th hour) showing cell/matrix interaction before and after applied construct strain.

The Bioreactor was developed to aid in the study of mechanobiology, the science behind how cells sense and respond to mechanical stimulation. Specifically, the Bioreactor will allow for greater analysis of mechanotransduction, the process by which the body converts mechanical loading into cellular responses.

As with all ADMET testing systems, the BioTense Perfusion Bioreactor can be customized with various grips and fixtures for testing a variety of sample materials and sizes.
