Compression platens are used in material testing setups to determine the compression properties of materials. ADMET compression platens are commonly manufactured from aluminum or steel and attach to the testing machine with an eye-end connector appropriate for the load capacity. Spherically seated compression platens that compensate for horizontal misalignment of the sample are also available. Browse platens below based on sample size and force capacity and contact us to discuss your testing needs.

CPS-L Perforated Compression Platens
CPS-L perforated compression platens come with evenly spaced out 6mm diameter holes. The perforated design allows air to outflow and is preferred for certain foam testing applications.
Configurations include:
- 120 by 120mm (4.7 by 4.7″)

CP-SST Self-Aligning Compression Platens
CP-SST spherically seated platens are self-aligning and fixable. They are used with specimens that do not have a parallel surface when placed in between the platens. Once mounted, operators can apply a small pre-load and fix the platen at the required position to start the test.
CP-SSTi platens are Aluminum platens applicable for low-weight compression samples such as packaging materials. CP-SSTk platens are Hardened Steel platens for metal, concrete, and other specimens requiring a higher force capacity.
Standard diameter options include:
- 56mm (2.2”)
- 96mm (3.78”)
- 116mm (4.57”)
- 156mm (6.14”)
- 196mm (7.72”)
- 246mm (9.68”)
Extended force capacities, platen dimensions, high/low temperature ranges, and mounting adapters are also available.
MPP Multi-Purpose (T-Slot) Platens
Multi-purpose T-slot platens can be ordered in Aluminum or Steel for a variety of testing applications. They are often used to attach test fixtures and grips to testing machines. Available dimensions include:
- 250 by 250mm (9.8 by 9.8″)
- 220 by 400mm (8.7 by 15.7″)
- 380 by 400mm (15 by 15.7″)
CC Compressometer Cages
