ADMET has added the Pi-XS to it’s low cost Pi Peak Load Indicator family for materials and product testing. After listening to feedback from professionals across several industries, we’ve added some of the most requested features to the Pi-XS which are not available in existing Pi and Pi-R models.
The Pi-XS incorporates user selectable ASTM C39 cylinder, ASTM C109 cube and ASTM C78 beam geometries which allows for live stress, peak stress and stress rate indication. At the completion of each test, the Pi-XS automatically stores the strength results to permanent memory. A companion software utility, GaugeSafe, is also offered for downloading results from the Pi-XS to a computer. Once downloaded, the results can be viewed, printed or exported in ASCII delimited format for easy import into common spreadsheet or LIMS programs.
The Pi-XS builds on ADMET’s successful Pi Peak series of load indicators. All Pi Peak Load Indicators are capable of displaying live load and peak load, with the Pi-R indicator also being capable of displaying load rate. All models support user selectable force units of lb, N, KN, and Kg. Stress units of psi, kPa, MPa and Kg/sqcm are available in the Pi-XS.
Common test methods performed with the Pi Peak Load Indicator include ASTM C39 for testing concrete cylinders, ASTM C109 for testing cement cubes, and ASTM C78 for testing concrete beams. They are also used to measure peak load or stress in tension or compression, measuring pull-out or push-in forces, remote on-site testing, and proof load testing.
