Testing Machine Designed Specifically for Foam

The eXpert 5603F system includes everything required to perform ASTM D3574 and ISO 2439 Indentation Force Deflection (IFD) tests on urethane foam. The system is designed for the ASTM and ISO standard specimen sizes of 15″ x 15″, but the frame size can be increased to accommodate larger specimens. The machine configuration also provides tensile and peel testing capability.

How the system works:

The system automatically measures the height of the sample at the pre-load force (typically set to 1 lbf). It will then compress to exactly to the pre-defined compression percentages (typically 25% IFD, 65% IFD, and return 25% IFD). The preflex cycle and dwell time can be enabled or disabled in the test procedure. After the test, an individual test report and grouped test report is available. All tests are automatically saved and are exportable to a .csv file. The test procedure is flexible and can be easily modified by the user. All parameters of the test can be defined: compression speed, compression percentages, pre-load force, number of compression cycles, dwell times for each hold, and initial preflex procedure.
